Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to tighten hoarding and set storage limits on Tuesday to ensure easy availability of onion. The official spokesperson told on Tuesday that a notification will be issued soon in this regard. According to the spokesperson, it is being arranged that retail traders can store onions up to two metric tons, while wholesalers can keep onions up to 25 metric tons. This limit will be applicable till the end of December. The Chief Minister’s office also gave this information by tweeting on Tuesday.
Earlier on 23 October, the Central Government issued a consultation in this regard. The spokesperson said that the traders would be given three days before imposing the storage limit.

Merchants will have to complete the sorting and packing work in three days. After that the storage limit will apply. The Chief Minister has given strict instructions to the officials to control the sudden surge in onion prices in some districts of the state.
