Uttar Pradesh: patient's family forcibly removed oxygen cylinder from hospital, investigation continues

Ballia, 15 September: The relatives of a patient in a hospital in Varanasi forcibly snatched oxygen cylinders from the hospital. The incident occurred after the patient was referred from this hospital to another hospital. This incident is on Sunday evening. Chief Pharmacist of the medical facility Ramesh Prasad Gupta said that Ankit Singh, a resident of village Kharoni in Ballia, was admitted to the district hospital on September 12.

Dr. Anurag Singh, Pharmacist Pankaj Upadhyay and Ward Boy Sanjay Kumar were on duty. Dr. Singh treated the patient appropriately. But the next day, when his condition deteriorated, he was referred to a hospital in Varanasi. The chief pharmacist alleged that Ankit Singh’s relatives forcibly took oxygen cylinders from the hospital.

The hospital’s Chief Medical Superintendent B.P. Singh was informed about this incident. He then apprised the district police officers about the incident. Investigation is still on in the case.
