Lucknow, 16 September: The Lucknow police has announced a reward of Rs 25,000 each on the two sons of Bahujan Samaj Party MLA and mafia don Mukhtar Ansari – Abbas Ansari and Omar Ansari. Both these brothers are wanted in cases of illegal land grab. Abbas Ansari has won a gold medal in international shooting competitions. At the same time, in 2017, he had contested the assembly elections on the BSP ticket from Ghosi seat, in which he had to face defeat.
2 days ago, the Ghazipur police had registered a case against Mukhtar’s wife Afsha Ansari, her brothers – Sharjeel Raja and Anwar Shahzad, under the Gangster Act for possession of land, embezzlement and other charges. Lucknow Police Commissioner Sujit Pandey said that cases were registered against Abbas and Omar for land grabbing and illegal construction. Recently, the state government had demolished two buildings of Abbas Ansari in the posh Dalibagh.

The Commissioner of Police said that the police had asked the court to issue a non-bailable warrant against the two brothers. At the same time, the police is also preparing to bring Mukhtar Ansari to Uttar Pradesh, which is currently lodged in Ropar Jail in Punjab. According to sources, the state government has clamped down on Don’s economic empire and has banned his income of Rs 48 crore per year. His properties in Varanasi, Ghazipur, Mau and Jaunpur have either been confiscated or demolished.
