UEFA Euro 2020 Google Doodle With Schedule: Search engine Google has greeted all the competing teams at the start of the UEFA European Football Championship on Friday with a special doodle. A major tournament for football fans around the world since 1960, this year marks the first time in history that 51 matches of the tournament will be held in host cities across Europe. The delayed Euro 2020 finally starts on Friday, but is a year behind schedule due to COVID-19. UEFA Euro 2020 is starting with a tremendous match with a match between Turkey and Italy.

The tournament, to be held in 11 cities across 11 UEFA countries, was originally scheduled from 12 June to 12 July 2020. Although it was postponed and rescheduled from 12 June 2021 to 12 July 2021 due to the outbreak of the Kovid-19 pandemic, the tournament name ‘UEFA Euro 2020’ has been retained. Italy vs Turkey is the first match to open the curtains for UEFA Euro 2020, in which Rome’s Stadio Olimpico will host Azzurri and Crescent-Stars in a game played almost 12 months ago. It is also a sign that many European fans will be able to return to the stadium despite the limited capacity.

All teams, including UEFA Euro champions Portugal and FIFA World Cup winners France, are divided into six groups, each consisting of four teams. The top two teams from each group and the four best third-placed teams will qualify for the last-16 stage of the competition, starting June 26.

Seven of the eleven host nations – Denmark, England, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Russia and Spain – have qualified for the tournament. Two others – Hungary and Scotland – made it through to the play-offs, while Romania and Azerbaijan missed out. While Finland and North Macedonia are making their debuts.
