New Delhi, 29 December Taking better care of the privacy and security of data, Facebook will be given new options to users next year so that their account can be better protected. The company’s head of security policy, Nathaniel Gleiker, said in a statement that the plan for social media for the new year is to introduce an alternative to hardware security keys for users.
It is generally recommended to use a security key for high-profile accounts, but it will be made available for every account from next year. According to the report, users will be able to purchase these tokens or keys individually from various retailers and along with them they can also be purchased online. From next year, the company will expand its Facebook Protect Security Program to many different accounts, including journalists, activists protecting human rights, celebrities and all those users, Some from different countries will be part of the upcoming major elections. Gleeiker said that high-profile account users will be able to use both Facebook Protect and Security Key. In his statement, he has said, information related to social media handle of important people is targeted by hackers. If you are not the CEO or political candidate anywhere, it does not mean that you are not an important person in your field or you cannot be targeted. The Facebook Protect includes two-factor authentication and real-time monitoring to avoid hackers’ threats. At present, this program is available only to American politicians, party workers, government agencies and polling personnel.
