Indian fast bowler S Sreesanth will end his 7-year ban in September this year. Sreesanth was arrested by the Delhi Police in a spot-fixing case in May 2013 while playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He was arrested along with Ajit Chandila and Ankit Chavan. Sreesanth was part of the Rajasthan Royals team then. After that incident, Sreesanth was banned for life by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). However, the BCCI Lokpal reduced his life ban to 7 years. Sreesanth may have turned 37, but he has not given up hope of returning to Team India.
However, meanwhile, left-arm spinner Harmeet Singh, a former Rajasthan Royals cricketer, has revealed Sunsikhej about him. Harmeet Singh was also a part of the Indian team that won the Under-19 World Cup in 2012. Harmeet told in an interview to Cricbuzz that Sreesanth used to party all night during the IPL. Sometimes these parties ran till 6-7 am. During this time there were also girls in his room.
Harmeet said, ‘When I was in the Rajasthan Royals team, Sreesanth always kept me close to him. My room used to be next to Sreesanth. At that time Rajasthan Royals included only two Test players Rahul Dravid and Sreesanth. Both of them loved me. Obviously, who did not want to be with them. Sreesanth was more fond of me. He always kept me in his next room so that no other player was disturbed.
When Sreesanth was arrested in May 2013, the footage showed a woman entering Sreesanth’s room. On this question, Harmeet said, ‘Who is coming in Sreesanth’s room, who is going, I did not mean anything to him. However, Sreesanth was still partying when I got up to go to the gym at 6 or 7 am in the morning. But I never got suspicious because Jiju Janardhana who was arrested told us that he is Sreesanth’s younger brother. Who would have suspected such a situation. He was always with Sreesanth. Girls were also living with them. Sreesanth was smart and young and had girls with him in Jaipur, so I never doubted him. ‘
