The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that there is a possibility of heavy rains in many parts of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh in the next few days. In its All India Weather Bulletin, the weather agency said that a low pressure area is located above the Arabian Sea. Apart from this, light to moderate rains are expected at some places in the coastal districts of Saurashtra during the next 24 hours. The IMD said, “A fresh low pressure area is likely to form over the Central Bay of Bengal around 19 October. It is likely to become more marked during the subsequent 24 hours. Under its influence, Odisha and coastal Andhra Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at different places in the state.
The IMD said that today and tomorrow the sea situation on the Arabian Sea will be very difficult. In view of the weather conditions, fishermen are advised not to go to these areas.
