Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again gave special instructions in the review meeting about the condition of corona epidemic in the country and vaccine preparations. He said that once the vaccine is ready, effective arrangements will have to be made to reach the public fast. Experiences of election and disaster management can be used for this. The meeting was attended by Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, Member (Health) of NITI Aayog, Principal Scientific Advisor etc. The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction at the steady decline in the affairs of Kovid. It was told in the review meeting that three vaccines are being developed in India. Out of which two vaccines are in the second phase and one is in the third stage. The Indian scientific and research team is supporting research capabilities in neighboring countries Afghanistan, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Maldives, Mauritius, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh, Myanmar, Qatar and Bhutan have sent requests for vaccine testing in their countries. The Prime Minister said that our efforts should not be limited to the neighborhood, but should provide a platform to deliver vaccines and medicines all over the world. In consultation with state governments, the National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration and all concerned stakeholders have prepared a detailed roadmap for the storage, distribution and application of the vaccine for COVID-19. The expert group is actively working on vaccine priority and vaccine delivery in consultation with the states.

The Prime Minister directed that keeping in view the geographical spread and diversity of the country, the reach of the vaccine should be ensured rapidly. The Prime Minister stressed that every step in logistics, distribution and management should be strictly implemented. This should include planning in advance of cold storage chains, distribution networks, monitoring mechanisms, prior assessment and preparation of necessary equipment, such as wells, syringes, etc.

Prime Minister Modi said that the system of distribution and application of vaccines should be implemented in a uniform manner. There should be participation of states, district level officials, civil society organizations, volunteers and experts. There should be a strong IT system in the entire process and the system should be made such that it has permanent value for our health system. Two all-India studies conducted on the genome of SARSOV-2 (Kovid-19 virus) by the ICMR and Department of Bio-Technology (DBT) in India show that the virus is genetically stable and there is no major mutation in the virus.
