New Delhi: Petrol prices have been stable for the past several days, but now many cities have seen a change in its rate. However, diesel has been made cheaper by Rs 8.38 per liter in Delhi. The Delhi government yesterday reduced the VAT rate on this fuel. Petrol is being sold at Rs 80.43 per liter in Delhi on Sunday (2 August). Rs 87.19 per liter in Mumbai, Rs 82.05 per liter in Kolkata and Rs 83.63 per liter in Chennai.
On the other hand, diesel is being sold in Delhi at Rs 73.56 per liter. Diesel in Mumbai is Rs 80.11 per liter. Diesel is being sold at Rs 77.06 in Kolkata and Rs 78.86 in Chennai.
Only diesel was expensive in July
If seen in the month of July, the government oil companies were only increasing the price of diesel. Diesel prices have been increased in 10 installments in the last month, due to which diesel has become expensive by Rs 1.60 per liter. Talking about petrol, there has been no increase in it since one month. The last increase in its price was on June 29, that too only 5 paise per liter.
