New Delhi, 17 September: Former Supreme Court judge Markandey Katju has questioned the integrity and credibility of the Indian judiciary by testifying on behalf of Nirav in the extradition of fugitive diamond trader Nirav Modi before the Westminster Magistracy Court of Britain. . Due to this, a public interest petition has been filed in the apex court demanding legal action against Katju.
Nand Kishore Garg has filed this PIL through advocate Shashank Dev Sudhi, stating, “The Indian judiciary should not take this issue casually because such derogatory statement has left the entire judiciary in the eyes of the international community Doubtful. It is the right time to capitalize on the pride of the Indian judiciary by taking active action to stop such false allegations regularly. “

It argued that the statements given by Katju are highly derogatory and this defames the entire justice system of India. According to the petition, Katju had alleged that 50 percent of the judiciary in India is corrupt, in such a case, PNB scam accused Nirav Modi will not get a fair hearing in the country.
