He was born in 1897 in Shahjahanpur in the North-Western Provinces (Uttar Pradesh) of British India. Ram Prasad Bismil learned Hindi from his father and was sent to a Maulvi to learn Urdu. Bismil was not only a great freedom fighter, but he was also a great poet and a good writer. He is known for his participation in the Mainpuri Conspiracy of 1918 and the Kakori case of 1925.   • Ram Prasad Bismil’s early education took place at home, he learned Hindi from his father at home and later he was admitted to Urdu school. It is said that from here, interest in reading books of novels and ghazals started awakening in him. After some time Ram Prasad Bismil came in contact with a priest living in his neighbourhood, which had a profound effect on his personality.
  • It is said that when Ram Prasad Bismil was just 14 years old, he used to steal money from his parents and buy books from them, because he was very fond of books. Bismil’s father’s income was very low, due to which the family could hardly survive, in such a situation, due to the poor financial condition of the house, he could do his studies only till 8th standard.
  • His father’s name was Muralidhar and mother’s name was Moolrani. The light of revolution was awakened in the heart of Ram Prasad Bismil at a young age and he jumped into the freedom struggle at the age of just 11. Due to his participation in the revolutionary movement at the age of play, Ram Prasad Bismil became a heroic revolutionary as well as a multi-faceted personality.
  • Ram Prasad Bismil was greatly influenced by Swami Somdev after meeting him and Arya Samaj’s influence was also seen on him. Bismil believed a lot in Hindu-Muslim unity. The friendship of Ashfaq Ulla Khan and Ram Prasad Bismil set a unique example of Hindu-Muslim unity. Even today, the example of friendship of both is given.
  • Ram Pradad Bismil was attracted by the ideals of the Hindustan Republican Association and after joining it, he met many freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Ashfaq Ulla Khan, Chandrashekhar Azad, then in the year 1923, Ram Prasad Bismil founded Sachin Nath Sanyal. and drafted the Constitution of the Hindustan Republican Association with Dr. Jadugopal Mukherjee,
  • Declaring the war against the British rule, Ram Prasad Bismil conspired with Ashfaq Ulla Khan to buy arms, and on 9 August 1925, carried out this historic incident of looting the treasury of the British government.
  • After the Kakori incident, the British government arrested Bismil and he was sentenced to death for carrying out this incident. He was hanged on 19 December 1927 in Gorakhpur jail. However, before sacrificing his life for Mother India, Bismil wrote books on the lives of many revolutionaries while in jail. He also wrote an autobiography which he wrote till three days before his execution.
  • Ram Prasad Bismil, who played an important role in carrying out the Mainpuri conspiracy and the Kakori incident, exposed British imperialism in his 200-page autobiography in jail, so the British banned the spread of the book written by him.

Bismil was only 30 years old when he was hanged. Bismil had recited the poem ‘Sarfaroshi ki tamanna ab hamara dil me hai’ even before putting the noose around his neck. His sacrifice shook the whole of India. Even today people salute the sacrifice and spirit of Ram Prasad Bismil, who laid down his life laughing for his motherland.
