Director-General of Police of Odisha, Abhay, on Wednesday praised a sub-inspector doing duty during lockdown despite being eight months pregnant. State Police Chief Abhay on Tuesday visited Mayurbhanj district to see the readiness of Sub Inspector Mamta Mishra posted at Betanati Police Station there.
DGP tweeted, “Eight months pregnant this perky policeman is on duty. She has been Keeping in mind his health, he has been posted at Betanati Police Station instead of a road or outpost. It is a great compliment. ”
During my Mayurbhanj visit yesterday I met SI Mamta Mishra. This braveheart in eighth month of pregnancy insists on working. In view of her health, she is given duty at Betnoti PS and not on road or checkpoint.

He said that when the police, doctors and all the other people in the first line including nurses are working hard during this crisis, why can't she? This is a challenge for all of us and no one should avoid it by making excuses. Mishra said she was fine and would go on leave when needed.
The DGP also praised two policemen from Mayurbhanj who had postponed their marriages due to the outbreak of Kovid-19. He tweeted, “During my visit to Mayurbhanj, I met constable Vikas Barik and constable Ashish Kumar Dey. They postponed their marriages on May 8 due to their duty during the corona virus. “
