The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Mumbai seized a parcel filled with drugs at the Lonavala Post Office in Pune district and arrested two people. An official gave information about it here on Sunday. The parcel was sent from Canada two days ago. When the NCB opened it, 1.03 kg of marijuana was recovered from it and 74 grams of the same substance was recovered from a building in Nerul, Navi Mumbai. According to the investigation, the price of this drugs in the international market is Rs 50-55 lakh. The official said that it was to be sold in Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

The NCB arrested Shrimay Paresh Shah (26) from Ahmedabad and Omkar Jaiprakash Tupe (28) from Navi Mumbai in this connection. Further investigation is in progress. Let me tell you that earlier in Dhanavi, Mayanagri Mumbai, the police seized about 1.20 kg heroin from a drug peddler, which was valued at Rs 2.40 crore. After receiving secret information about the drug delivery to the Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Ghatkopar Police here, a team of ANC laid a trap to control the paddler on a 60 feet road in Dharavi and started hiding and waiting for him.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Milind Bharambe said that after some time, the suspected paddler arrived to sell drugs to other paddlers or customers. The team members caught Paddler red-handed with a packet of 1.20 kg of drugs, containing ‘heroin’. Its price is estimated to be around 2.40 crores in the international market.
