Mumbai: A case of a married man absconding with his girlfriend by lying. According to the police, a man named Manish Mishra, 28, phoned his wife and said that he is suffering from Corona virus and does not want to live. He said that Kovid-19 was conducted in Vashi Lab. After which Manish switched off his phone. Manish is a supervisor in a logistic company in Navi Mumbai JNPT. When Manish did not return home on the second day and the phone stopped continuously, his family members registered a missing complaint in the police. The police formed a team to locate Mishra and checked in all the labs of Vashi but nowhere was Kovid-19 test of Manish’s name. When Manish switched off his phone, his last location was Vashi. One officer said, “We sent a team to the location, where we found his motorcycle and key, and the backpack and his helmet he used to take to work.
The police officer said, “We also investigated Vashi Bay with the help of local fishermen, but its body was not found. The police said that we were convinced that he was alive and so we kept looking for him. “The police started scanning the CCTV footage and sent his pictures to police departments of other states of India. Police said that, we got the first lead through CCTV footage in Airoli, where he was seen traveling in a car with a woman. “Senior Inspector Sanjay Dhumal of Vashi Police Station said,” Later the police came to know that Mishra is living in Indore.
“We came to know that he had an extra-marital affair going on and was staying in Indore with his girlfriend. After that we sent a team and brought him back to Navi Mumbai,” the officer said.
