Guru Arjun Dev Ji was the protector of Dharma and the true lover of humanity. He was the fifth Guru of the Sikhs and his name is recorded in the pages of history. Let us tell you that he spent his whole life in social service. It is said that he was imprisoned by the Mughal Emperor Jahangir in Lahore in 1606 and during that time he was sentenced to death. In fact Guru Arjun Dev Ji was the protector of religion and the true servant of humanity and respected all religions. Akbar was a fan of Guru Arjun Dev during the Mughal period.
It is said that when Akbar died at that time, Guru Arjun Dev did not get that much importance during the reign of Jahangir. At that time, when Prince Khusrau was ordered to be expelled by the Mughal ruler Jahangir, Guru Arjan Dev gave him shelter. Because of this Jahangir sentenced him to death. Let us tell you that on May 30, 1606, Guru Arjun Dev died and he did this Ardas in the last moment of his life. “Your keys looked lovely. Hari Namu should ask for Padratha Nanak.”
Guru Arjan Dev Ji was born on 15th April, 1563 in Goindwal Sahib. His father was Guru Ram Das, the fourth Guru of the Sikhs and his mother’s name was Biwi Bhani. It is said that Guru Arjun Dev was interested in religious deeds since childhood and at the same time he had a lot of love for spirituality. He considered social service as his biggest religion and work. He was married at the age of 16 to Maa Ganga and in 1582, he was appointed as the fifth guru by Ramdas, the fourth guru of the Sikhs, to replace Arjun Devji as his fifth guru.
