Srinagar, June 3: Jammu and Kashmir Police along with security forces arrested a terrorist associate in Bandipora district and recovered incriminating material including a grenade and 50 live AK series rounds from his possession. Officials gave this information on Wednesday. Acting on specific information regarding movement of anti-national elements in Bandipora, a special joint outpost was set up by police, army and CRPF in Putushai area, police said. During checking, the officials caught a suspect named Irshad Ahmed Mir, a resident of Onagam. During preliminary interrogation, he revealed that he was working as a terrorist associate of the banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba.

On his disclosure, incriminating material was recovered, which includes a grenade and 50 live rounds of AK series. The police said that during further interrogation, he admitted that the ammunition for the terror attack in the general area of ​​Bandipora was handed over to him.

As per police records, Mir is an old history-sheeter and was involved in several anti-national activities.

A 33-year-old married woman was allegedly raped by a police constable in Gujarat’s Surat for not wearing a mask. A case has been registered against the constable in this case. The woman alleges that when she had gone to buy milk, the policeman abducted her in his car in Palsana. The accused has been identified as Naresh Kapadia. The rape victim further alleged that the accused raped her several times over the next few months. This incident happened last year during the lockdown. The accused allegedly took the woman to Navsari Road instead of the police station. The complaint also alleged that Kapadia assaulted her. He allegedly clicked her pictures and blackmailed her. According to a report published in the Times of India, Kapadia was posted at Palsana police station at the time of the incident.
