The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Capitals announced on Tuesday an agreement with South Africa pacer Enrich Nortje. Nortje will now replace England fast bowler Chris Woakes.
Norte said in an official statement, “I am very keen to join the franchise which performed very well last season.”
He further said, ‘It will be a good opportunity for me to be a C3 player because of the mix of young and experienced players in the team and the excellent coaching setup. I am grateful to Delhi Management for giving me this opportunity.
The 26-year-old Nortje made his Test debut against India in 2019. He has taken 19 wickets in six Tests, 14 in seven ODIs and two in three T20s. The 13th season of the IPL begins this time in the UAE from 19 September. The tournament will be held at three UAE grounds – Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah. Its final will be held on 10 November.
