Fake TRP case: Republic TV reaches Bombay High Court to quash FIR lodged against it

Arnab Goswami, Editor-in-Chief of ARG Outlier Media Pvt Ltd and Republic TV, has approached the Bombay High Court to quash the FIR lodged against the channel in the alleged fake TRP scam.

ARG Outlier Media Private Limited is owned by Republic TV. It has sought transfer of the case to CBI to ensure a fair investigation in its petition. It has also demanded a CBI inquiry on the grounds that it will have an impact across the country.

It is noteworthy that earlier the Supreme Court refused to consider the petition filed by a senior officer of the channel against the summons issued by the Mumbai Police. The court had said that they should go to Bombay High Court instead of coming here. The Mumbai Police has registered a case against Republic TV and its senior officials on two other regional channels on charges of fraud, criminal conspiracy and criminal breach of trust.
