Preparation of Durga Puja is the biggest festival of West Bengal. People are getting very enthusiastic about this festival starting from next week like every time. However, on Sunday, two policemen infected with Kovid-19 died in Kolkata on Sunday. According to city police sources, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Siddharth Shekhar De, who was posted in the Fifth Armed Battalion, died on Sunday morning. He was found positive in Kovid’s investigation. He was admitted in a private hospital here for a few days. Kolkata Police Commissioner Anuj Sharma tweeted, “We have lost our colleague ASI Siddharth Shekhar De due to Kovid-19. We stand by their family members in this hour of grief.

Another officer of Kolkata Police’s Intelligence Department, Humbahadur Thapa, also died on Sunday due to Kovid-19. His result also came positive in Kovid’s investigation in July. Thapa was also admitted to a private hospital here after being found infected with Kovid. His report came negative a few days ago, after which he was brought home.

Doctors advised him to stay at home on oxygen support. Meanwhile, on Friday night, due to his sudden worsening of condition, he was immediately taken to the hospital. He died in the hospital this morning.
