Be fond of fast food. A recent study by China-based Central South University has cited poor diet as the leading cause of heart disease. Excessive intake of fat, sugar and salt-rich dishes have been found responsible for seven out of every ten deaths due to heart diseases worldwide.

At the same time, if the reasons for which the risk of untimely death can be avoided by paying attention to them, then the poor diet also comes above such factors as high blood pressure, high cholesterol or cigarette-alcohol addiction.

According to chief researcher Dr. Xinyao Liu, 6 million deaths worldwide can be prevented by avoiding fastfoods, colddrinks and excessive sugar-salt-oil-rich dishes alone. It is possible to get long life gifts by increasing the intake of fruits, vegetables, nuts and sprouted grains instead.

Liu and his colleagues analyzed the 11 factors that increase the risk of death from heart diseases through the ‘Global Burden of Disease Study’, conducted in 195 countries between 1990 and 2017. These included poor diet, cigarette-alcohol addiction, distance from exercise, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, air pollution, lead exposure and kidney disorders.

The analysis found poor diet, high levels of systolic blood pressure and excessive levels of bad cholesterol as the three leading causes of death from heart diseases. The results of the study have been published in a recent issue of the ‘European Heart Journal – Quality of Care and Clinical Outcomes’.

Distance from air pollution and exercise is also fatal-
In studies, the polluted climate and distance from exercise were found to be the fourth and fifth biggest cause of death from heart diseases. Actually, the pollutants entering the body by way of breathing dissolve in the blood and damage the arteries. They also increase the risk of clotting (blood clotting) problems. At the same time, due to lack of physical activity, there arises complaints of fat and cholesterol in the arteries. In both cases, a person can be killed due to obstruction of blood flow.
