Children of Delhi government schools are increasingly getting involved in HT-Codeathon program. So far, more than 12000 children studying in class 9 have joined it. Of these, 1018 children have completed the course in less than a month. Not only this, 17 children are in the top 100 children in the North Zone. Deputy CM Manish Sisodia reviewed the event with some children and teachers today. He said that many of you children will dream to work in a company like Google, but my dream is that some of you will set up companies like Google and give jobs to thousands of people.

Bhaskar, a student of GBSSSS Mahipalpur, told that earlier he had only heard about coding but now he has got a chance to do it. Bhaskar has started teaching coding to his friends by forming a WhatsApp group called Coding Champions. CM Arvind Kejriwal’s big statement, said – Due to the anti-dengue campaign, no one died in Delhi this year.

A student Simran said that earlier I used to play only games, but now the mind would move on how to make a new game. She said that I want to make such adventure games for children that children will be happy by playing. A student Ajay said that I had not thought that I would be able to learn coding after studying in a government school.

Two brothers Shitanshu and Priyanshu, who studied at Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, Saket, told that they have started working on other projects after learning coding. Curiosity, a student of SKV in Surajmal Vihar, said that she wants to become a software engineer. He said that my dream is to learn coding and thank the Delhi government for giving this opportunity.

During conversation with children today, it was revealed that most of the students involved in Codethan had never heard of Python, Scratch and other coding languages. His computer teacher is now helping him learn all this.

Many students of Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Piragadi’s teacher Babita have secured good rank in Kodathon. She guides 17 of her students through online classes. He told that many of his students have made very good animations. Another teacher Nazir said that his students are doing very well. Such children coming from lower income group are trying to perform better, facing every problem.

Another teacher Madhulika, who is a teacher of Dwarka Situation Sarvodaya School, told that her children did not even know to login till last month, now they are making games. Mr. Sisodia said that with the help of this opportunity, we should develop such programs so that children can get an opportunity to move towards heights in the world of coding.
