New Zealand’s James Neesham keeps speaking his mind on social media and his funny tweet has made him quite famous. Neesham, who returned to the IPL with Kings XI Punjab after six years, had a special chat with our associate Times of India from Dubai. He also spoke on the heart-breaking defeat that New Zealand suffered in the ODI World Cup.

He further said, ‘When someone loses in a match with a small margin, it feels bad and you know that it has nothing to do with skill and talent. Then some people are hit by a car accident. People die in a plane crash. You know it’s inauspicious. More than just losing a cricket match, it gets worse with people at times. You should see positivity. That match could have ended in a different way. ‘
Talking about being active on social media, he said, ‘I only use social media to enjoy and enjoy time. It is no fun to be on social media if you are not using it. This is not something that makes you bored. I wake up in the morning and wonder what to do to be funny today. If I have free time and I am waiting for someone in the lobby, I see on Twitter what is going on. ‘
On how much change Neesham, who played IPL in 2014, has now changed, he said, ‘My age was 23 then. Hardly a handful played international games. I was not experienced. I am now a bit more grounded (grassroots) as a person. I feel fortunate that I got rested on it once again.
