During this period, there were many workers, buses, bicycles and laborers who had left Mumbai for Uttar Pradesh on foot. While giving information about the exodus of laborers in Parliament, the Union Home Ministry said on Tuesday that a large number of people fled due to the panic that arose due to the Fake news. TMC MP Mala Roy had asked the government the questions of migrating workers in Parliament. In response to which this information was given.
Explain that Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai gave information that “the migration of large number of migrant workers was created by fake news about the period of lockdown, and people, especially migrant laborers, food, drinking water, Concerned about the adequate supply of basic necessities like health services and shelter. People did not have to face problems during this period. In view of this, several measures were taken, including meeting with senior officials and setting up control rooms in the ministry. Giving information, he said that the Center had allowed the state governments to use the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) only on March 28. To provide temporary accommodation, food, clothing, medical care etc. to the homeless people as well as migrant workers. To increase funds with the states, the Center on April 3 gave an advance amount of Rs 092 crore from the State Disaster Fund to the states. Earlier in the Lok Sabha on Monday, the government said in a written reply that it did not have the figure of death of migrant laborers amid lockdown.
