Balli Durga Prasad Rao, MP from Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, died at Apollo Hospital in Chennai on Wednesday evening. The leader of Yuvjan Shramik Rayathu Congress Party (YSR) has died due to Corona virus infection. Bally Durga had been ill for some time and was sent to Chennai 15 days ago for better treatment. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also expressed grief over his death. Apart from this, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed deep condolences on his death.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted that I am saddened by the demise of Lok Sabha MP Balli Durga Prasad Rao Garu. He was an experienced leader who contributed greatly to the progress of Andhra Pradesh. My feelings are with his family and well-wishers in this hour of grief.
Four times MLA and 1 time MP
Balli Durga Prasad Rao, leader of the YSR Congress Party, was originally a resident of Nellore in Andhra Pradesh. He was an MLA from Gudur district four times during 1985-1989 and between 1994 and 2014. Bally Durga also served as the Minister of Primary Education between 1996 and 1998 and as a member of the Public Accounts Committee between 2009 and 2014. In the recent elections, he contested from the YSR Congress Party and was elected as an MP from the Tirupati Lok Sabha seat.
MP Vasantkumar has also died
Let us know that till the start of the monsoon session, about two dozen MPs including seven Union Ministers and both the Houses have been found infected with Coronavirus till now. Earlier in the Lok Sabha, Tamil Nadu MP H Vasanthakumar has also died from Corona. Apart from this, many legislators in the country have also died due to corona.
