Samples of 16 health care workers examined
The Institute of Genomics and Intergovernmental Biology (IGIB) Director Anurag Agarwal, while proving corona re-infection in the country, said that apart from two cases in a hospital in Noida, our lab has found differences in six other samples. Four of them are from Mumbai and two others are from a hospital in Delhi. It is said that a team of IGIB has so far intensively examined samples of 16 health care workers from across the country to check for re-infection. One of the two swab samples represents the first infection and the second refers to the infection again.
Nine variations between SARS-CoV2 viruses
In the case of Noida Health Worker, a test of a 25-year-old male and a 28-year-old female showed nine variations between the two SARS-CoV2 viruses that re-infect them. HCW tested PCR positive for the first time on 5 May and 17 May. The second time was on 21 August and 5 September respectively.
