The result of NEET was released on Friday. For the first time in the history of NEET, two students have scored 720 out of 720. Shoaib Aftab from Odisha and Akanksha Singh from Delhi have scored 720 out of 720. The percentile score of both is 99.9998537. In a press release issued by NTA, Shoaib Aftab has been ranked 1 and Akanksha has been ranked 2.
Akanksha Singh, despite having 720 marks out of 720 and the same percentile, has got the second rank. While the third is Tumala Snikita, a student of Telangana. Vineet Sharma from Rajasthan is at fourth rank and Amrisha Khaitan from Haryana at fifth. The female students have been dominated by NEET toppers.
NTA Director General Vineet Joshi said that despite Akanksha’s Shoaib Aftab having 720 marks, the second rank has come because according to the rules, the number of Biology, then Chemistry number and then Negative marks are seen.
After this, the most important aspect is that the one who is older in age is placed higher in the rank. In this case both students had similar marks, so Shoaib has been placed at rank 1 based on his date of birth as he is older.
