According to the information received, thousands of teachers working in government teaching hospitals of Telangana had been demanding increase in pay as per the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission for a long time. After a long wait of nearly four years, the state government has approved the demands of the teachers. After the implementation of the order, the salary of more than 2800 faculty members working in all the teaching hospitals of the state has increased from 24 percent to 44 percent. The teachers will be given the benefit of increase in salary from the current month itself. The revised salary will be paid in cash from September 2020 under the seventh pay scale. However it will be given with the salary of next month.
Under the order, the salary of assistant professor will be increased by 34 percent, associate professor salary by 24 percent and professor salary by 44 percent. On the other hand, this decision of the state government has been welcomed by the Resident Doctors Association. Association President Dr. Srinivas said that the new doctors, who have increased their degree in salary, will be encouraged to work as faculty in the hospital.
